Christened: 14 August 1824, Rivington Lancashire, England. Unitarian Church.
Left Liverpool on a ship named "Golden Dream" on 11 February 1863. Arrived in Moreton Bay on 28 May 1863. On it's way it docked at Queenstown (now called Cobb or Cork Harbour) in Ireland. There were 671 adults on board at the time of docking. The passenger list shows:

William drowned in the Brisbane River, Qld, Australia on or around 28 June 1875.
The Courier Mail (Morton Courier) of Wednesday 30 June 1875 had the following notice:

"Persons Equired For

Missing from South Brisbane, William Pilkington, he is about 51 years of age, was last seen on Monday morning at Mr Rollinson's cotagge, near Town Wharf, had on a black coat and light trousers. Any information respecting himn will be most thankfully received by his family."


The body of William Pilkington was found floating in the Brisbane River after 5 days. He was burried in South Brisbane Cemetery.
Burried on 4 July 1875 at South Brisbane Cemetery, 181 Annerley Road, Dutton Park, Portion 11A, Grave number 65.
Percival Pilkington and Sarah Pilkington are burried in the same grave.
